Public Sector People are partnering with a local council in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs to recruit an experienced
Workplace Relations Specialist
for a temporary contract opportunity.
About the role We are looking for a specialist who can provide high-level advice and hands-on support across a broad range of workplace relations matters. You will play a key role in managing risk, ensuring legislative compliance and uplifting leadership capability across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include: - Providing specialist advice on complex ER matters including misconduct, grievances, disputes, whistleblowing and underperformance
- Conducting formal investigations into employee conduct, including bullying, harassment and discrimination
- Interpreting and applying legislation and industrial instruments, including Enterprise Agreements, employment, OHS and injury rehabilitation legislation
- Undertake investigations and prepare reports and correspondence to internal and external requests
- Supporting and coaching leaders to manage unsatisfactory performance and misconduct in line with Council policies and procedures
To be successful in this role, you will bring: - Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end complex employee relations cases
- Strong working knowledge of workplace laws and their practical application
- Experience resolving employee, employer and union-related disputes
- In-depth understanding of the Fair Work Act and other employment legislation
- Experience working in a government, healthcare or similarly complex environment
