Public Sector People are seeking a proactive and experienced
Workers Compensation and Injury Management Officer
to manage all aspects of workers compensation claims in accordance with SIRA requirements and their self-insurance licence.
This is a short-term contract of 3 months to start on Monday 25th August.
Ideally, the council are looking for someone who knows SIRA coding and reference to specific sections of the WHS Legislation Act.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage end-to-end workers compensation claims in line with SIRA and legislative requirements.
- Develop and implement effective Injury Management Plans (IMPs).
- Liaise regularly with claimants, managers, and external stakeholders to ensure transparent and timely communication.
- Maintain accurate records, including case notes, calculations, and database updates.
- Prepare, interpret, and report on workers compensation data and statistics.
- Evaluate and process workers compensation-related invoices.
Essential Experience: - Strong understanding of workers compensation legislation and SIRA guidelines.
- Demonstrated experience in injury management and claims processing, preferably within a self-insurer or scheme agent environment.
- Proven ability to interpret legislation and apply it to real-world scenarios.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience: - Allied health background (e.g. physiotherapy, rehab, psychology).
- RTW (Return to Work) Coordinator accreditation and/or experience.
- Experience using SolvInjury or similar systems.
