Public Sector People are working with a council in Sydney's southwest, who are seeking a
WHS Business Partner
to join them on a
5-month contract.
As a
Work Health & Safety Business Partner, you will support and empower business units to embed safety into their operations through practical solutions and strategic advice. You'll coordinate Return to Work (RTW) programs, champion the Safety Management System, and deliver continuous improvement initiatives aligned with our Safety & Wellbeing Strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate RTW functions for allocated business units, including plan development and liaising with external medical providers.
- Represent the organisation in strategic case management and customer care meetings with Case Managers and business leaders.
- Interpret and apply WHS legislation, standards, and codes of practice to ensure compliance and drive business outcomes.
- Support the implementation of the Safety & Wellbeing Strategy and associated Action Plan.
- Conduct or support SMS audits and ensure accuracy in safety documentation and reporting systems.
About you: - Qualifications in WHS or equivalent professional experience.
- High-level knowledge of the WHS legislative framework, current trends, and industry best practice.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing Safety Management System procedures.
- Desirable - Return to Work Coordinator accreditation and experience.
- Desirable - Safety Management System auditing experience.
