We are seeking a skilled and reliable Welder / Sheet Metal Worker to join Logan City Council on a temporary assignment, helping to keep the City Fleet's vehicles, plant and equipment safe, reliable and fit for purpose.

About the Role
Working within Council's fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for carrying out welding, fabrication and sheet metal work on a range of vehicles, plant and equipment. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in producing quality workmanship and maintaining high safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding and fabrication repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment
• Carry out sheet metal repairs and modifications as required
• Assist in maintaining Council plant and equipment to a high standard
• Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently
• Contribute to the reliability and availability of Council's fleet assets

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Trade qualification as a Welder / Sheet Metal Worker or equivalent industry experience
• Experience working on vehicles, plant or heavy equipment
• Strong commitment to workplace safety
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable work ethic and attention to detail
