L7 Traffic Safety Coordinator (parking & traffic)
to join their
Road Infrastructure Planning Transport Services
on a contract
until 9th October (+extension / direct appointment) What will you be doing: To coordinate investigation and delivery of effective interventions to improve safety for all road users in Logan City, with particular focus on reducing road trauma through implementing the Road Safety Strategy for Logan.

Pay:
$74.79 per hour + super

contract until 9th October (+extension with the opportunity of full-time employment)
Hours: 36 hours per week Monday to Friday
Responsibilities:
- Investigation and delivery of effective interventions to improve road safety and reduce road trauma.
- Apply best practice investigation strategies to ensure the integrity of Council’s engineering design response to serious road crashes and traffic safety enquiries.
- Lead the development, implementation and promotion of Council’s Road Safety Strategy, Road Safety Action Plan and associated initiatives.
- Coordinate, evaluate and develop Council road safety strategy in partnership with relevant branches, TMR, Police, Qld Health and other stakeholders.
- Advise, inform and educate development industry professionals about best practice to support quality development throughout Logan City, using educational materials and technical knowledge.
About you:
- Available ASAP
- Possession of a current 30215 General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) ticket.
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Behavioural Sciences or related discipline. Alternatively, extensive relevant experience in the field of road safety.
- Specialised qualifications in Traffic Engineering and eligibility to be registered as a Professional Engineer under the Queensland Professional Engineers Act (RPEQ) in the area of Civil Engineering will be highly regarded.
- Experience with traffic management related to urban/rural road networks and city centres, design of local traffic infrastructure, active transport planning, and providing specialist road safety engineering input from a Safe Systems approach.
- Ability to undertake traffic engineering and modelling reviews using computerised analytical tools (eg SIDRA Intersections, STREAMS) and assess traffic management schemes would be highly regarded.
