Blacktown City Council is seeking temporary Workshop Trades Assistants to support the maintenance of Council vehicles, plant and equipment at the Rooty Hill Depot.

Rate: $44.90 per hour + super
Dates: ASAP Start – 26 February 2027
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
Engagement: Casual

About the role:

Support trades personnel with repair and maintenance activities
Assist with heavy vehicle and plant tyre removal and fitting
Carry out greasing, washing and cleaning of vehicles and equipment
Safely operate vehicles, plant and workshop equipment
Maintain cleanliness of the workshop floor and equipment
Assist in the tyre bay when required

What you’ll need:

HR licence – essential
Experience removing and fitting wheels and tyres on heavy plant and vehicles
Heavy plant or vehicle maintenance experience
Forklift ticket – desirable

This is a hands-on workshop opportunity suited to someone with experience around heavy vehicles, plant, tyres or mechanical maintenance.
