About the role
This program aims to uplift security maturity across various areas of the organisation. You'll be working directly alongside a dedicated Project Manager in a delivery-focused environment, contributing both technical expertise and analytical support.
- Provide technical expertise across the design, implementation, and optimisation of cyber security systems.
- Collaborate with the PM and stakeholders to align technical delivery with program goals.
- Support audit, compliance, and documentation efforts aligned with ISO27001 and Essential Eight.
- Evaluate and recommend cybersecurity tooling, both standalone and integrated suites.
- Work with Microsoft 365 security solutions, CrowdStrike, Netskope, and other advanced toolsets.
- Provide technical security leadership with external and internal cybersecurity audits.
- Provide expert advice, guidance and solutions to relevant stakeholders in security management and reducing risk to Council.
Essential requirements - 5+ years of experience in cyber security roles
- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Security Suite, Netskope, and CrowdStrike
- Familiarity with frameworks such as ISO27001 and Essential Eight
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to juggle multiple workstreams
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Experience supporting the design, implementation and management of Security Incident & Event Management (SIEM) and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) toolsets to collect, detect, investigate, respond and report on cybersecurity incidents.
