Public Sector People are proud to partner with Woollahra Municipal Council to appoint an experienced Team Leader Risk and Insurance. Reporting to the Coordinator Governance & Risk, this position plays a critical role in strengthening Council's governance framework through the effective management of enterprise risk, insurance and claims functions.
This is an exciting opportunity for a risk professional with strong leadership capability to drive organisational resilience, influence strategic decision-making and foster a proactive risk culture across the organisation.
About the Role Reporting to the Coordinator Governance & Risk, you will:
- Lead Council's Enterprise Risk Management Framework, including risk registers, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage Council's insurance program, renewals, claims and incident management processes
- Provide expert risk, insurance and governance advice across the organisation
- Support the Audit, Risk & Improvement Committee (ARIC) and internal audit program
- Develop and deliver risk management training to build organisational capability
- Lead and mentor a small specialist team while driving a positive risk culture
What You'll Bring - Demonstrated experience in enterprise risk management, insurance and claims management
- Strong knowledge of governance, risk frameworks and insurance practices
- Experience managing complex claims, investigations and stakeholder relationships
- Proven leadership capability with experience developing high-performing teams
- Excellent analytical, communication and influencing skills
