Public Sector People are partnering with a local government organisation to recruit for a Strategic Planner.

Contract: Jan 2026 - Jul 2026
Salary: $55 - $65 p/h + Super

Responsibilities:

Work on a range of planning projects and activities to design, develop, implement and review Council's planning policies, land use strategies, planning instruments, planning agreements, and Heritage Incentives Policy.
Assist with the preparation and negotiation of Planning Agreements with applicants on behalf of Council for the best possible outcomes for betterment of Council and our community
Work on a range of planning and design projects and activities, including Development Control Plans.

Essential:

Minimum 2 years experience in a Strategic Planning position ideally within local government.
Understanding of planning processes, particularly in relation to planning proposals and the plan making process, Local Environmental Plans and Development Control Plans.
Demonstrated experience working on planning projects and tasks and implementing projects on time and to budget.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Urban/Town Planning.
