Strategic Communications Adviser (Temporary)
Part-time (4 days/week) | Band 6 | July–October 2025

A temporary opportunity exists for an experienced Strategic Communications Adviser to join a local government team.

In this role, you will:

Develop and deliver strategic communications plans for campaigns and projects
Write and coordinate content for internal and external channels
Prepare speeches and scripts for the Mayor and CEO
Manage the production of a monthly community newsletter
Support media relations, including drafting releases and setting up briefings
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication delivery

Ideal candidates will bring:

Qualifications in communications, journalism, PR or related field
Strong written communication skills across a range of formats and styles
Experience in media, campaigns, or engagement in complex organisations
The ability to manage sensitive issues and competing deadlines
