Principal Consultant – Search & Selection (Government)
Public Sector People is proud to be a specialist recruitment partner to Government across Victoria. With a strong and established presence in the market, we’re continuing to build out our Search & Selection capability, focused on senior and hard-to-fill leadership roles across councils and associated public sector organisations.
We’re now looking for a Senior or Principal Consultant to step into a well-established desk and continue to build on strong existing relationships while driving new opportunity across the sector.
About the role
This is a senior, 360 recruitment role with a clear focus on executive and specialist search. You’ll work closely with councils on leadership appointments across areas such as corporate services, transformation, technology, and broader organisational support functions.
You’ll be supported by a highly experienced local team, strong brand recognition in the market, and an existing network of clients who know and trust the PSP approach. There is genuine scope here to shape your own portfolio while contributing to a broader team offering that is deeply embedded across Government.
About you
You’re likely an experienced recruiter who enjoys working at a senior level, comfortable partnering with executive stakeholders and managing end-to-end search processes.
You don’t need to come directly from Government recruitment, but you’ll bring:
- Strong relationship management skills and commercial awareness
- The ability to run structured, high-quality search processes
- A natural, consultative style - able to partner and guide clients
- A level of curiosity and interest in how organisations operate
Most importantly, you’ll enjoy building trust; with both clients and candidates and take pride in delivering a considered, well-run process.
