The Senior Strategic Planner will play a key role in delivering Council’s Strategic Plan for a growing region. They will bring strong analytical, communication, and project management skills, along with an understanding of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and related legislation.

Key Responsibilities

Leading the development, coordination and delivery of strategic planning policies, plans and projects aligned with Council’s long-term vision.
Overseeing assessment and determination of complex and controversial planning proposals, providing expert advice and sound strategic judgement.
Guiding and mentoring junior team members while ensuring effective workload management, legislative compliance and robust decision-making across the team.

Key Requirements

4 year Degree in Urban and Regional Planning OR Urbanism OR Urban Planning and Design OR
3 year Degree and Post Graduate Diploma or Certificate in Planning.
