Senior Risk Advisor / Risk Team Leader
Full-time or Part-time | 3-Month Contract | $50 p/hour + super (negotiable)
Remote – Regional Western Victoria

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Risk Advisor or Risk Team Leader to support our client, a progressive local council in regional Western Victoria. This contract role offers the opportunity to lead and shape the organisation’s risk management framework while working remotely.

In this role, you will advocate for best practice risk management across the organisation, collaborating closely with Executive and Management teams to strengthen governance and build capability. You will lead two staff members and play a key part in developing the updated Risk Management Strategy (2026–2030).

Key responsibilities:
• Lead advocacy and implementation of best practice risk management across the organisation
• Review and evaluate the current Risk Management Strategy and develop an updated version
• Review Strategic and Operational Risk Registers and update key policies and frameworks
• Design a Risk Management training framework and deliver capability programs
• Provide leadership and guidance to a small, dedicated team

About you:
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a similar risk or governance role
• Proven experience in both operational and strategic risk management
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Executives and senior leaders
• Previous experience in Local Government, Public Sector, Healthcare, or Education is highly desirable
