Senior Project Manager

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a highly regarded local government organisation on a short-term contract.

About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex capital projects, from planning and consultation through to execution. You will also contribute to the oversight of broader programs and portfolios, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.

You will champion best practice project management by embedding and driving the Project Management Framework (PMF) across the organisation, while working closely with internal and external stakeholders to influence outcomes and foster a high-performing project delivery culture.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the delivery of significant capital projects across all phases
• Managing contracts to ensure compliance with project objectives, standards and specifications
• Coordinating multidisciplinary project teams, including consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders
• Providing project insights, risk analysis and reporting to senior leadership and Councillors
• Monitoring project progress across feasibility, design, planning and construction stages
• Supporting and coaching project managers and contributing to team leadership and development
• Liaising with external agencies, including State Government stakeholders
• Reviewing contractor OHS documentation, including SWMS and ITPs
• Assisting in the preparation of communications and stakeholder updates

About You
You are an experienced project leader with a strong background in delivering capital works within a complex environment, ideally within local government. You bring excellent stakeholder engagement skills, a proactive mindset and the ability to lead teams and drive outcomes in a fast-paced setting.
