The Role
Knox City Council is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager – Core Business Systems to lead the delivery of a major, organisation-wide transformation program focused on implementing a modern Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform.
With the initial focus on replacing and upgrading Council’s Finance System, this role will lead the end-to-end delivery of the Core Business Systems Program, ensuring outcomes are delivered within agreed scope, timeframes, budgets and governance frameworks. The program includes the replacement of legacy systems, strengthening data integration and governance, and enabling smarter, more seamless services across the organisation.
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, you will provide strong program leadership, build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and guide the organisation through significant change. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage vendors and partners, and be accountable for end-to-end program delivery, including scope, scheduling, dependencies, budget and risk management. You will oversee financial performance, track benefits realisation and provide clear, timely reporting to governance forums. This is a high-impact role with regular engagement across Council’s senior and executive leadership, including participation in key steering committees and governance forums.
About You
You are an experienced Project Manager with a strong track record delivering complex, large-scale transformation programs, including ERP implementations (experience with TechnologyOne is highly desirable). You bring strong financial and governance capability, a structured approach to scope, schedule and delivery, and a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams through change.
You are confident engaging with executives, business leaders, technical teams and external vendors, and are known for your clear communication, strong stakeholder management and ability to balance risk, value and outcomes. Experience within local government or a similarly complex environment will be highly regarded. Relevant tertiary qualifications are essential, with formal project management certification highly desirable.
