Senior Procurement Officer
who can take ownership of strategic sourcing, contract performance, and stakeholder engagement across a broad portfolio of goods and services.

- Hourly Rate: Up to $91.34 per hour plus super
- 6 month contract with view to extension

What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll step into a trusted advisory position, driving procurement activities from initial planning through to market engagement, evaluation, negotiation, award and contract oversight. Your day-to-day will involve:
- Guiding business areas on procurement strategies, compliance requirements and risk management.
- Designing and executing structured sourcing approaches that align with Queensland Government procurement frameworks.
- Preparing high‑quality procurement documentation and managing tendering activities.
- Leading evaluation panels and negotiations to secure the best possible outcomes.
- Overseeing contract performance — monitoring KPI results, resolving issues, managing variations and ensuring suppliers meet expectations.
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors and industry partners.
- Producing concise reports, analysis and briefing material to support decision-making.
- Maintaining accurate data and contributing to continuous improvement of procurement systems and processes.
You’ll thrive here if you bring:
- Solid experience delivering end‑to‑end procurement within a government or similarly regulated environment.
- Confidence in analysing information, making informed recommendations and navigating ambiguity.
- Strong communication skills — you can translate complex requirements into clear advice and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- A proactive, organised style with a focus on delivering results and upholding governance standards.
- The ability to adapt to shifting priorities without losing momentum or clarity.
Relevant tertiary qualifications or procurement certifications (such as CIPS) are an advantage but not essential. Experience in social procurement or grant‑related processes will be viewed favourably.
