Senior / Lead Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced Principal Data Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise data and analytics transformation program within local government.

This role will play a key part in designing, building and governing a modern Microsoft Fabric data platform, enabling enterprise reporting, analytics and future AI capabilities across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of Microsoft Fabric data solutions
• Build and optimise scalable data pipelines and Lakehouse architectures
• Develop and maintain Azure-based data platforms and integrations
• Drive data governance, security and platform best practices
• Work closely with technical and business stakeholders across the organisation
• Support enterprise reporting, analytics and real-time data initiatives

Required Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric
• Experience across OneLake, Lakehouse and Data Factory
• Advanced SQL and PySpark/Python capability
• Strong Azure data platform experience
• Proven background delivering enterprise-scale data engineering solutions
• Experience within local government, utilities or enterprise environments highly regarded
