We are looking for an experienced
Senior Finance Business Partner
to join our client, a progressive local council located in Melbourne’s inner suburbs. This is a
3-month temporary opportunity
with an immediate start, offering the chance to contribute to strategic financial outcomes within a collaborative and community-focused environment.
This role acts as a key strategic partner across the organisation, supporting business units to drive financial performance and long-term sustainability. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, providing expert financial insight to inform decision-making and align resources with organisational priorities.
Key responsibilities include: - Partnering with service areas to align financial strategy with operational and community outcomes
- Preparing accurate and timely monthly management reports for Executive and Audit Committee review
- Supporting the development and implementation of the Long-Term Financial Plan
- Leading the coordination and preparation of the annual budget across business units
- Monitoring budget performance, delivering clear variance analysis and actionable insights
About you: - Experience within Local Government, Healthcare, Education, Not-for-Profit, or State/Federal Government environments
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a similar finance business partnering or strategic finance role
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- CPA or CA qualification (mandatory)
- Strong stakeholder engagement and financial analysis capability
