One of QLD's largest state departments is seeking an experienced RPEQ Senior Engineer to support the SCR (State Controlled Road) Design Team in delivering its 2025–26 program of works.
Working alongside an existing in-house RPEQ Engineer, you will provide senior technical leadership, oversee civil design development, and provide RPEQ certification for designs prepared by the South Coast Region Design Team.
Projects will range from Safer Roads Sooner works (under $5 million) through to major intersection upgrade projects exceeding $10 million.

Reporting to the Design Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct supervision and technical guidance to TMR Designers on concept and detailed design projects
- Providing RPEQ certification for civil design documentation
- Ensuring compliance with TMR and Queensland standards, guidelines, and policies
- Ensuring designs achieve value for money and align with industry best practice
- Preparing seal and pavement designs for concept and detailed design stages
- Preparing and reviewing technical documentation, including:
- EDD / DE reports
- Design Development Reports
- Reviewing project estimates and other delivery and contractual documentation
- Managing effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Attending and contributing to project meetings as required
Mandatory Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must:
- Be a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)
- Comply with (or be willing to obtain) the required insurance coverage as specified in the RFQ
- Comply with the Conditions of Contract
- Comply with the Queensland Government Supplier Code of Conduct
- Be available to meet the required on-site and remote work arrangements
