In the role of PO4 Senior Engineer (Civil) you will provide technical advice to ensure efficient and effective asset management of state-controlled road infrastructure within the Region. This position is based in the Asset Management team with a strong focus on providing technical expertise to support design, construction, and maintenance processes.
Accountabilities Include:
- Conduct assessments of road infrastructure and prepare reports outlining recommended engineering solutions for specific issues.
- Develop asset management strategies that optimize transport infrastructure while minimizing whole-of-life costs.
- Provide expert advice and support in planning and design processes to ensure best practices, value for money, and successful program outcomes.
- Identify engineering requirements, including materials, critical components, and systems, to support project management and infrastructure delivery.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements in the design and construction of road infrastructure projects.
- Implement and uphold quality management procedures to deliver road projects that meet high and consistent standards for both Transport and Main Roads and clients.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders on all matters related to transport infrastructure delivery.
- Oversee project management activities, including planning, assigning, supervising, and coordinating work tasks, while fostering teamwork and a positive workplace culture.
- Carry out duties as assigned by the Principal Engineer (Asset Management).
Mandatory Requirements:
- A four-year Bachelor of Engineering accredited by the Washington Accord, or an equivalent qualification recognized by Engineers Australia.
- Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
- Valid Class C driver’s licence.
- Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
- Provision of personal, suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Screening.
