Public Sector People is continuing to grow across Queensland and we are looking for an experienced Senior/Principal Recruitment Consultant to join our Search & Selection division, specialising across Corporate Services recruitment within Local & State Government.
This is a unique opportunity to step into an established and high performing desk focused on senior and specialist appointments across:
  • Human Resources & People and Culture
    • Procurement & Contracts
    • Finance & Accounting
    • Business Support & Corporate Services
    • Governance, Policy & Administration
You will be Responsible for Winning & Delivering - Retained Recruitment Assignments exclusively within Local & State Government.
You will leverage existing panel agreements, long standing client relationships and a highly engaged candidate network to deliver retained solutions across Queensland councils.

This role is ideal for a consultant who enjoys relationship driven recruitment, executive search, market mapping and partnering closely with senior stakeholders to solve complex recruitment challenges.

What the role looks like
This is a true 360 recruitment role with a strong focus on relationship management, search and business development within the Local Government market.
You will be responsible for:
  • Managing and growing an established Corporate Services desk
    • Delivering retained executive and leadership search recruitment assignments
    • Building relationships with CEOs, Directors, Managers and HR leaders across councils
    • Conducting market mapping and executive search activities
    • Managing recruitment processes end to end
    • Developing candidate pipelines across HR, Finance, Procurement and Business Support
    • Attending client meetings, networking events and industry functions
    • Working closely with leadership to continue growing our QLD business
What we’re looking for
  • Minimum 3 years agency recruitment experience in a 360 environment
    • Strong capability in business development and relationship management
    • Experience recruiting within Professional Services, Corporate Services or Government recruitment is highly regarded
    • A proactive and consultative approach
    • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
    • High levels of accountability and professionalism
    • Someone who enjoys building long term relationships and becoming a trusted advisor to clients and candidates
