Public Sector People are working with a local government organisation in Syndey who are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Coordinator Risk Management to lead the delivery of Council’s enterprise risk management activities.
You will drive a proactive, integrated approach to risk management and business continuity that supports operational excellence and aligns with legislative and strategic requirements.

3 month contract - possibility of extension
Immediate start
$65-$75ph + super

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote risk awareness and capability across Council.
Maintain compliance with legislative obligations while identifying emerging trends and risks.
Liaise with Internal Audit to ensure cohesive audit and risk planning.
Manage and monitor Council’s insurance program (excluding workers compensation).
Deliver training and communication programs to embed a strong risk culture.
Support and guide staff acting as risk owners across Council.

What You’ll Bring

Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in a relevant field.
Extensive experience in enterprise risk management and business continuity planning.
Local government experience highly desirable.
Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
A strategic mindset with an eye for identifying and mitigating organisational risks.
