Risk and Governance Manager Anglican Diocese of Perth Perth CBD | Full-Time | Values-Based Organisation Public Sector People are partnering with the
Anglican Diocese of Perth
to appoint a
Risk & Governance Manager
to support and strengthen risk, governance, WHS and insurance oversight across the Diocese.
This is a pivotal, hands-on role within a respected faith-based organisation operating across parishes, clergy and affiliated entities throughout Western Australia.
The Organisation The Anglican Diocese of Perth supports a diverse network of parishes and church communities. Governance is delivered through Diocesan Council (DC), Perth Diocesan Trustees (PDT) and a committee structure that reflects the Diocese’s long-standing traditions and volunteer-based governance model.
This is a collaborative and considered environment, where change is measured and stakeholder engagement is key.
About the Role Reporting to the Diocesan Secretary and Executive Officer, the Risk & Governance Manager will play a central role in:
- Maintaining and strengthening the Risk Management Framework
- Supporting and monitoring WHS systems and reporting
- Overseeing the Diocese’s insurance program in partnership with external brokers
- Preparing and presenting risk and WHS reporting to DC and PDT
- Supporting governance processes, policy development and committee cycles
- Acting as Privacy Officer and Whistleblower Officer
Well-established systems are already in place. The successful candidate will take the time to understand existing frameworks, build strong internal relationships, and introduce improvements in a measured and consultative way.
This role is less about large-scale transformation and more about steady stewardship, influence and delivery.
About You We are seeking a governance professional who is:
- Experienced across risk, governance, WHS and insurance oversight
- Comfortable preparing and presenting reports to Boards or governance committees
- A hands-on operator who enjoys facilitating, coordinating and delivering outcomes
- Detail-oriented and confident working with legislative and compliance frameworks
- Skilled at engaging diverse stakeholders, including clergy, parishes and volunteers
- Collaborative, measured and politically astute
This role will suit someone who may currently be operating as a Senior Advisor or Officer and is ready to step into broader responsibility. It is not a role for someone seeking to impose rapid change - patience, diplomacy and relationship-building are essential.
An understanding of, or comfort working within, a values-based organisation with a diversity of views will be important.
Working Environment The Diocese is predominantly office-based in Perth CBD, with flexibility available where appropriate. The role is full-time, with standard business hours and minimal after-hours requirements.
Remuneration is anticipated to be in the range of $130,000 – $140,000 + 12% superannuation.
Why Join the Diocese? - Strategic, organisation-wide exposure
- Direct access to senior leadership
- Opportunity to build influence and grow into a broader advisory capacity
- Stable and respectful working environment
- Meaningful work within a mission-led organisation
