Public Sector People are partnering with a council in metro Sydney, NSW to recruit for a Rates and Revenue Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated finance team within local government and make a direct impact on community services.
  
Position: Rates Officer
Contract: 5 months | ASAP Start | Strong potential for extension
Location: Metro Sydney, NSW
Hourly Pay Rate: $38-45ph + super
  
Responsibilities: 
  • Maintain accounts receivable to ensure all accounts are raised and recovered in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
  • Process daily banking and reconciliation of subsystems to the general ledger to ensure accuracy of generated transactions.
  • Actively pursue outstanding debts and initiate debt recovery in accordance with Council’s policies liaising with Councils mercantile agent.
About You:
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the Public Sector, Not-for-Profit, Education or Healthcare sectors
  • Strong understanding of debt recovery processes and related administration
  • Comfortable working in sensitive environments with a customer-first approach
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
