This is a great opportunity for someone with local government enforcement and prosecution experience to manage a varied caseload and play an important role in supporting the preparation and progression of prosecution matters.
Key Responsibilities: - Manage an individual caseload efficiently, including preparing complex prosecution matters and associated documentation.
- Prepare legal documents including affidavits, warrants, charge sheets, summons and other prosecution-related documents.
- Research, investigate and analyse complex matters as requested by the Head of Prosecutions and Compliance Legal Counsel.
- Prepare and issue charge sheets to bring alleged offenders before courts and tribunals.
- Prepare correspondence relating to enforcement matters, infringement notices and other prosecution matters.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure matters are prepared accurately and within required timeframes.
Key Criteria: - Local government experience
and a strong understanding of the legal processes, procedures and legislation relating to local government enforcement and prosecutions.
- Demonstrated experience working with prosecution and enforcement matters.
- Familiarity with the Magistrates’ Court system and the prosecution of matters through the court process.
- Strong reading, comprehension, research and writing skills, with the ability to prepare clear and accurate legal documentation.
- Well-developed typing, letter writing and précis writing skills.
- Experience using Pathway
will be highly regarded.
