We are looking for an experienced Project Support Engineer to join a local council in Melbourne’s northern suburbs on a short-term contract.
This role plays a key part in supporting the delivery of infrastructure maintenance and capital works projects, ensuring works are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage minor capital works and infrastructure maintenance projects from concept through to completion
- Coordinate contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery
- Monitor project progress, budgets, risks, and timelines
- Support contract management, including tender documentation and performance monitoring
- Review designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance and quality outcomes
- Provide regular reporting on project status and financials
- Engage with community and stakeholders to support project delivery
- Ensure strong OH&S practices across all works
About You:
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction, or Project Management (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience delivering infrastructure or civil projects, ideally within local government
- Strong contract management and procurement knowledge
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Experience managing budgets and project financials
- Victorian Driver’s Licence required
