Public Sector People are partnering with a local government organisation to recruit for an Project Support and Improvement Officer.
Contract: 6 months | Immediate Start
Hourly Pay Rate: $54 p/h + Super
Responsibilities:
- Provide project administration support, including maintaining project schedules, monitoring key milestones and dates, and coordinating communication across project teams.
- Administer Council’s Project Management System, including system configuration, user access and role management, project reporting, testing and system integrations.
- Provide training, troubleshooting and ongoing support to internal users and project services staff.
- Develop, maintain and review project management documentation, procedures, templates and processes.
- Provide administrative support to the Manager Project Services and Department Heads, including coordinating and minuting meetings and maintaining project documentation.
- Coordinate communications and engagement activities across the team, ensuring relevant administrative requirements are completed.
- Support the implementation of business improvement initiatives, including benchmarking, best practice reviews and process improvements.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and assist with implementing innovative solutions to improve team performance and outcomes.
- Provide administrative support for funding agreements and monitor project requirements to ensure deliverables and obligations are met.
- Liaise with internal teams and stakeholders to gather, maintain and provide accurate and timely project information.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate IV in Business Administration, Project Management or a related field, or demonstrated contemporary experience in a similar project administration role, supported by ongoing professional development.
- Current Class C NSW Driver’s Licence.
- Demonstrated experience identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and business practices.
- Experience preparing project reports, documentation, presentations and other project management materials.
- Strong project coordination and administration experience, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
- High-level experience using project management systems/software and Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collate and present information clearly to different audiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to independently assess, prioritise and respond to issues as they arise.
- Ability to build positive working relationships, share knowledge and collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve quality outcomes.
