About the role:
Project Scheduler – Local Government
We are seeking an experienced
Project Scheduler
to join our Project Management Office (PMO) and play a vital role in supporting the delivery of Council’s capital works program. This role is key to ensuring effective planning, reporting, and monitoring of projects within the One Year Operational Plan, Four Year Delivery Plan, and other projects developed throughout the year.
The Role
As Project Scheduler, you will:
- Develop, maintain, and review project, program, and portfolio schedules using MS Project (Integrated Master Scheduling tool).
- Coordinate with project and program teams to update schedules and provide accurate portfolio status.
- Produce high-quality progress reports, including monthly S-curve and scheduling reports, to assist management with decision-making and risk management.
- Analyse critical paths, monitor baselines, report variances, and identify risks early.
- Provide coaching and support to Project Managers in the establishment and maintenance of project schedules, including forward planning.
- Deliver technical advice, training, and user support in the use of MS Project and scheduling tools.
- Collaborate with the PMO to support system development, continuous improvement initiatives, and business plan actions.
- Prepare portfolio status reports for Executive and Client stakeholders.
About You
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in project scheduling within a project management or PMO environment.
- Strong skills in MS Project and the development of integrated master schedules.
- Ability to analyse data, identify risks, and present complex scheduling information clearly.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, coach, and support project teams.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and detail-focused approach.
- Experience in producing professional reports for senior stakeholders.
