Public Sector People are partnering with a local government organisation to recruit for an Project Officer.
  
Contract: 12 months | Immediate Start
Hourly Pay Rate: $58 p/h + Super
  
Responsibilities: 
  • Deliver a high level of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage Council projects from planning through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, designers, utility providers, suppliers and internal teams to keep projects progressing smoothly.
  • Prepare tender and quotation documentation, including reviewing specifications, drawings and contract documentation.
  • Oversee projects through the design, procurement and construction phases while liaising with key stakeholders and government agencies.
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines and overall project performance, providing regular updates to management and stakeholders.
  • Apply sound judgement when making day-to-day decisions relating to project delivery, engineering practices and budget management.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal departments, contractors, consultants and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate project meetings and ensure clear communication between all parties involved.
  • Coordinate procurement activities and project scheduling to meet key milestones.
  • Identify project risks early and develop practical strategies to minimise or manage them.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with Council requirements, quality standards and legislative obligations.
  • Provide additional support and undertake other project-related duties as required by the Manager.
  
Essential:
  • 2+ years experience in an administration support role within civil teams in local government or working in a politically sensitive environment
  • Previous experience with TechOne, Content Manager/TRIM, Authority or Pathway highly regarded
