Project Coordinator Gumala Trust Perth | Full-time (flexibility considered) | 12-month contract Drive real impact across a portfolio of high-profile projects supporting Aboriginal communities.
Gumala isn't your typical organisation.
Representing the Banjima, Yinhawangka and Nyiyaparli people, Gumala Trust plays a critical role in managing and delivering benefits tied to the Yandi Land Use Agreement. That means real investment, real responsibility, and real outcomes for Traditional Owner communities.
Right now, the organisation is entering a phase of delivery. Decisions have been made. The focus is now on execution.
This is where you come in.
The Opportunity This is a newly created role, reporting directly to the CEO, with responsibility for coordinating a portfolio of high-impact projects that cut across operations, finance, governance and customer engagement.
The initial focus will be on three key programs. These projects are already in motion. Procurement is done. Contracts are being finalised. What's needed now is someone who can oversee implementation, bring structure, and ensure systems and processes are embedded effectively across the organisation.
What you'll be doing You'll sit at the centre of the organisation, working across teams to drive projects forward.
That will include:
- Developing and managing project plans, timelines and priorities
- Coordinating across internal teams, external providers and stakeholders
- Overseeing the implementation of new systems (including CRM), ensuring integration with existing processes and that teams are supported through the transition
- Supporting user adoption, training and embedding of new systems and workflows
- Running project meetings, tracking actions and driving accountability
- Supporting engagement with beneficiaries and ensuring communication is clear and culturally appropriate
- Monitoring progress, risks, budgets and deliverables
- Supporting implementation of new systems, processes and ways of working
- Bringing structure to what is a fast-moving and evolving environment
This is not a role where you sit on the sidelines. It's hands-on, visible and outcome focused.
What we're looking for This role could suit someone stepping up, or someone experienced who enjoys being close to delivery.
We're open on background, but you'll likely bring:
- Experience coordinating complex projects involving system implementation, process change or digital transformation
- Confidence working across functions (operations, finance, governance, customer-facing teams)
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- The ability to bring structure and clarity in a fast-paced environment
- A practical, hands-on approach - someone who gets things done
- An understanding of, or interest in, working with Aboriginal communities (highly valued, not essential)
Most importantly, you'll be someone who can navigate complexity, build relationships quickly, and keep things moving.
Why this role - Work directly with the CEO and senior leadership
- Be part of a critical delivery phase across the organisation
- Projects with real community impact
- Flexibility available (including 4-day working arrangements if required)
- Opportunity to shape how projects are delivered long-term
