Procurement Officer – Northern Suburbs
38 hours per week | ASAP Start | 3-Month Contract + Potential Extension
$46.21 p/hour + super

Public Sector People are partnering with our client, a Local Council in Melbourne’s Northern Suburbs, to appoint an experienced Procurement Officer. This is a great opportunity to step into a fast-paced team and support well-governed procurement processes that directly benefit the local community.

The Opportunity
We are looking for a proactive Procurement Officer who is confident managing procurement tasks from tender preparation through to contract finalisation. You will be responsible for ensuring all documentation is accurate, compliant and logged correctly in Council systems, while also supporting ongoing improvements to procurement panels and vendor data.

Key Responsibilities
• Draft and publish tender advertisements across relevant media outlets
• Maintain accurate procurement and contract documentation within record, procurement and contract management systems
• Finalise tender processes, including issuing notifications, preparing contract documents and coordinating execution
• Support the management of key procurement panels by running quarterly expenditure reports, conducting satisfaction surveys and coordinating panel feedback sessions
• Review and enter supplier, vendor and contract data into the finance system

About You
• Experience within Local Government, Public Sector, Healthcare or Education
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field
• Minimum 2–3 years in a procurement or contracts role
• Essential experience using OpenWindows/ReadyTech
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
