Procurement Business Partner Temporary Contract | ASAP Start – 20 November 2026
Local Council, Melbourne's Northern Suburbs
$49-$65 per hour + superannuation
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Business Partner to join our client, a well-established local council in Melbourne's north. This is a hands-on partnering role supporting managers and project leads across the organisation, with end-to-end ownership of tender processes and contract management support. A great opportunity to make an immediate impact within a collaborative Finance team.
What you'll be doing - Provide expert procurement advice and business partnering support to managers and project leads across council
- Coordinate and administer tender and quotation processes from planning through to contract execution
- Support contract management activities including register maintenance, variation tracking, performance monitoring and expiry management
- Identify and implement improvements to procurement processes, templates and guidance materials
- Assist with market research, supplier pre-qualification and engagement to support procurement planning
- Maintain accurate procurement records and contribute to reporting on activity, contract performance and savings
What we're looking for - Previous experience in local government or public sector procurement environments
- Demonstrated experience in procurement and/or contract management, including end-to-end tendering and supplier management
- Sound knowledge of procurement frameworks, legislation and probity requirements applicable to local government
- Tertiary qualification in procurement, business, commerce or supply chain (or equivalent experience)
- CIPS membership or equivalent professional qualification highly regarded
- Understanding of AS4000 is essential
