Locations: West Melbourne & East Melbourne
Hourly Rate: $49-56 p/hour + super

Public Sector People is partnering with two Local Councils to appoint two Procurement Business Partners, based in West Melbourne and East Melbourne. These are fantastic short-term opportunities to step into a hands-on, advisory role where you can make an immediate impact across complex procurement activities.

Our client is committed to strong governance, community value and delivering high-quality services. The procurement function plays a key role in supporting these outcomes, ensuring compliant, transparent and value-for-money purchasing practices in line with the Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB) policies.

We are looking for experienced procurement professionals who can confidently partner with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate end-to-end procurement processes. This includes public tenders, RFQs, contract preparation, exemptions, extensions, variations, reporting, training and compliance support.

Key responsibilities include:

• Working with the Procurement Team and stakeholders to deliver the Procurement Strategy Roadmap
• Acting as Contact Officer for major tenders and quotations
• Participating in Tender Evaluation Panels (TEPs) and ensuring evaluations align with policy and the Tender Evaluation Manual
• Providing advice and oversight on RFQ exemptions in accordance with policy and the RFQ Manual
• Implementing corrective actions arising from internal and external audits

To be successful, you will bring:

• Previous experience within Local Government, healthcare, education, NFP or State/Federal Government
• A minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a similar procurement role
• Demonstrated experience executing public tenders and applying VGPB policies
• Relevant tertiary qualifications
