Public Sector People are working with a local government organisation who are seeking an Internal Auditor Officer on a unique 3-month contract + extension.

Full Job Description

ASAP START | pay rates from $62p/h + super (PAYG)
Local council | Location - Strathpine
Initial temp contract until 30th Jan 2026 + extension
Conversion to perm employment is very likely.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Plan, execute, and report on internal audit engagements with a focus on project governance and delivery
Evaluate compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations
Provide recommendations to improve project controls, risk mitigation, and value for money
Collaborate with project teams, PMOs, and senior stakeholders to ensure audit findings are actionable
Support the development of the annual audit plan with a focus on high-risk projects and programs

About you:

Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g. PMBOK, Agile, PRINCE2).
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to manage multiple audit engagements and deliver results within deadlines.
Available to start ASAP
