Public Sector People are working with a Queensland State Government organisation, who are seeking a Principal Workforce Standards Advisor (AO7) to support the delivery of workforce standards, employee conduct and performance management practices across a large and complex operational environment.

  • Pay rate from $87 per hour + 12% super
The Principal Workforce Standards Advisor is responsible for supporting the coordination and oversight of workforce standards functions, providing expert advice on complex conduct and performance matters, and driving consistency across regional teams responsible for employee relations and workplace standards. The role partners closely with senior stakeholders to improve people management capability, strengthen governance and support positive workplace outcomes.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of workforce standards frameworks, policies, procedures and governance initiatives to support organisational objectives.
  • Provide expert advice and support on complex employee conduct, performance and workplace relations matters, including oversight of grievance resolution processes.
  • Undertake high-level research and analysis into emerging workplace conduct, integrity and employee relations issues to inform strategic decision making.
  • Support and mentor regional workforce standards teams, fostering capability development, positive team culture and continuous improvement.

This role works across complex and often sensitive employee relations, conduct and performance matters. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgement, professionalism, resilience and the ability to build trusted relationships while navigating challenging stakeholder environments.  

What we are looking for:
  • Extensive experience within Human Resources, Employee Relations, Workplace Relations or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex workplace conduct, performance management, grievance or employee relations matters
  • Highly developed analytical, problem-solving and written communication skills, including experience preparing executive-level reports and recommendations.
  • Qualifications and/or significant practical experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations or Workplace Relations will be highly regarded.
  • Ability to start immediately
