The Natural Disaster Program team is responsible for project managing and delivering emergent, recovery and reconstruction
works following damage to South Coast's state-controlled road network caused by disaster events activated under the Disaster
Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
Responsibilities - With supervision and guidance from senior engineering staff, project manage the delivery of road infrastructure projects through the administration of contracts and provision of technical expertise and support to the design, construction, and maintenance processes. In doing this you will ensure effective coordination of key operational activities and resources associated with project management and process development.
- Assist in the selection of the most suitable contract process for project delivery, then administer the contract to ensure compliance and successful delivery.
- Provide support and advice on the planning and design process, to ensure delivery of project outcomes, value for money and best practice are achieved.
- Maintain effective liaison and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in the development and review of project programs and schedules, identifying risk areas and mitigation strategies with support from senior engineers.
- Site-based construction oversight including quality assurance tasks, site visits, and contractor liaison to ensure compliance with approved methodologies.
Mandatory Requirements - A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
- Current holder of Class C driver's license.
- Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
- PPE – It is the responsibility of the supplier to provide the required PPE to their workers. Due to the site requirements of this position, the successful candidate must possess the following as a minimum:
- Safety boots
- 100% cotton long sleeved shirt
- 100% cotton long trouser
- Hard Hat with wide brim attachment
- Criminal History Screening must be undertaken by the successful candidate.
