Public Sector People are partnering with a local council in the South-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne to recruit a Planning Support Officer on a 2-month temporary basis. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Planning Support Officer to support a Planning team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous local government experience in planning administration who enjoys delivering high-quality service and working as part of a collaborative and professional team.
Role Details: - Duration:
2-month contract, with an ASAP start
- Hours:
38 hours per week
- Pay Rate:
$44 per hour + super
Key Responsibilities: - Maintain and process planning applications and associated administrative tasks within required timeframes using internal registers and databases
- Prepare a range of planning-related correspondence including VCAT documents, permits, advertising materials, and general notices
- Respond to basic planning enquiries and provide administrative advice where appropriate, escalating more complex matters to technical staff
- Deliver professional and timely customer service to both internal stakeholders and members of the public
About You: - Previous experience in a Planning Support Officer or similar administrative role
- General understanding of statutory planning processes
- Local government experience highly regarded
- Confident using Microsoft Office and council systems such as TechOne P&R, ECM, GIS, and CRM
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
