 We are seeking a Planning & Building Business Support Officer to join a busy Local Council in Melbourne’s south-east. This is a full-time contract role starting immediately and running until November.

In this role you’ll provide administrative and customer service support across planning and building services. You’ll be working in a high-volume environment, so attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential.

Key responsibilities:
  • Delivering excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Processing and coordinating planning and building applications
  • Preparing and issuing correspondence, reports, and property information
  • Accurate data entry and records management in Council systems (Pathway, TRIM)
  • Assisting with statutory returns, purchase orders and invoicing
  • Supporting the team with general administration and use of a dedicated phone system
What we’re looking for:
  • Solid administration background with experience in customer-facing roles
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to liaise across teams
  • IT savvy – proficient in MS Office and quick to learn new systems-Pathway and TRIM experience
  • Previous experience in local government, planning or building services essential
