We are seeking an organised and proactive HR professional to join a busy and collaborative People & Culture team within Local Government for a short term 3-month contract.

This role will suit someone who enjoys the operational side of HR and thrives in a fast-paced environment supporting a broad range of People & Culture activities, administration and stakeholder coordination.

Working closely with senior leaders, HR Business Partners and managers across the organisation, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day HR operations and supporting key people processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage the HR inbox, responding to enquiries and triaging requests to the appropriate team members
  • Provide administrative support across a broad range of HR activities and people processes
  • Prepare employment letters, contract variations and other HR documentation
  • Coordinate meetings, training sessions and team administration activities
  • Raise purchase orders, manage invoices and maintain policy trackers
  • Support key HR programs and projects including reporting, spreadsheet preparation and meeting minutes
  • Follow up with stakeholders regarding outstanding compliance requirements and documentation
  • Respond to employee and manager enquiries regarding HR processes, forms and policies
  • Maintain accurate HR records and support HR systems administration
  • Assist with identifying and implementing process improvements to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency
About You
  • Previous experience in a HR Administration, HR Coordination or People & Culture support role
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously
  • Confident communication skills with a strong customer service approach
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Experience using HR systems such as Aurion will be highly regarded
  • Previous Local Government experience is highly desirable
