We are currently seeking an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to join a progressive local council in Melbourne’s north-eastern suburbs on a 3-month contract. This role will play a key part in providing both strategic and operational HR/IR advice across the organisation.
Working closely with the Senior People & Culture Business Partner, you will partner with leaders across the organisation to support complex workforce matters, ensure legislative compliance and contribute to a safe, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic HR, Employee Relations and Industrial Relations advice to managers and leadership teams.
  • Manage complex ER/IR casework, including misconduct, grievances, performance and disputes.
  • Interpret and provide advice on Enterprise Agreements, Awards and relevant legislation.
  • Support organisational change processes including consultation, restructures and workforce transitions.
  • Partner with leaders to build capability and support effective people management practices.
  • Assist with policy development, governance and compliance across the People & Culture function.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders, including unions and employee representatives where required.
About You To be successful in this role you will bring:
  • Strong experience in Employee Relations and Industrial Relations advisory roles.
  • Solid understanding of the Fair Work Act, Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex and sensitive workplace matters.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to coach and influence leaders.
  • Previous experience in local government or another complex/public sector environment will be highly regarded.
