We're partnering with a prominent Local Council in Melbourne's inner South Eastern suburbs to find a dedicated Payroll Officer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a vital public service on a 12-month agency contract with an immediate start.
About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-regarded Local Council committed to serving its community. As a Payroll Officer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely payment of all staff, contributing to the smooth operation of the organisation. This is a hands-on role where your expertise will be valued.
Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Processing and delivering accurate payroll services in accordance with industrial awards, agreements, legislation, and Council policies.
- Preparing fortnightly payroll for all staff, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Maintaining and accounting for personnel entitlements, allowances, and deductions.
- Assisting with the maintenance and enhancement of the payroll system.
- Undertaking other duties as required by the Senior Payroll Officer.
What You'll Bring
We are looking for someone with:
- Previous workplace experience in a similar payroll function within a Public Sector, Not-for-Profit, Education, or Healthcare entity.
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll functions within a medium to large organisation.
- Experience with PayGlobal
is desirable.
