We’re looking for an Organisational Development Officer to join a local council and support the delivery of organisational learning and development initiatives. This role has a strong focus on managing the training calendar, supporting the Learning Management System (Acorn), and coordinating with both internal stakeholders and external providers.

This role would suit someone who has worked as an L&D Officer, HR Officer, or Organisational Development Officer, who is tech-savvy, highly organised, and enjoys a mix of project work and hands-on administration.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Supporting the development and rollout of organisational learning initiatives.
  • Coordinating the training calendar – liaising with external providers, tracking budgets, managing purchase orders.
  • Supporting and administering the Learning Management System (Acorn).
  • Assisting in developing online learning modules in Articulate (content already available).
  • Providing course management support including marketing, enrolments, and reporting.
  • Assisting with performance management and compliance training processes.
  • Handling day-to-day admin tasks – invoices, data entry, reporting, stakeholder support.
About you:
  • Previous experience as an L&D Officer, HR Officer, or similar role.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (Acorn highly desirable).
  • Confident with technology and keen to learn new software to enhance capability.
  • Strong administration and organisational skills – you genuinely enjoy keeping things on track
  • Experience with course design or e-learning platforms (Articulate a bonus).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across the organisation.
Why you’ll love this role:
  • A hands-on role with a great mix of administration, coordination, and project support.
  • Flexible – part-time arrangements may be considered.
  • Opportunity to develop your skills in OD and learning technologies.
  • Work within a supportive People & Culture team in local government.
