Oracle & SQL Server Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Senior DBA to join a large Queensland Government department on a 12-month contract based in Carseldine, Brisbane.

This role supports a complex enterprise environment across Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL, covering both on-premise systems and cloud platforms including OCI and AWS RDS.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL databases
• Support OCI (Exadata, RAC, Data Guard, TDE) and AWS RDS environments
• Monitor, tune, and troubleshoot database performance and incidents
• Manage backups, restores, refreshes, and data extracts
• Develop and maintain automation scripts (PL/SQL, T-SQL, Linux/Windows)
• Provide Level 3 escalation support
• Support HA/DR, release, and change activities
• Liaise with Oracle and Microsoft support as required
• Participate in on-call roster

About You You are an experienced DBA with strong Oracle and SQL Server capability, ideally with exposure to cloud environments (OCI/AWS). You’re confident in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and supporting critical production systems in a large enterprise setting.
