This QLD state department is on the lookout for an experienced plumbing professional to undertake the role of Senior Supervisor – Plumber (OO7/1). The position is responsible for managing a pipeline of maintenance and project works, supervising a small team of trade staff and apprentices, and ensuring the efficient delivery of plumbing services in accordance with departmental objectives, legislative requirements, and operational priorities.
Key Responsibilities - Supervise and coordinate a team of plumbers, trade staff, and apprentices.
- Manage the planning, scheduling, and delivery of plumbing maintenance and project works.
- Monitor workloads, resource allocation, and program performance to ensure service delivery targets are achieved.
- Provide technical advice and guidance on plumbing-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, relevant legislation, codes, standards, and departmental policies.
- Monitor quality standards and ensure work is completed to required specifications.
- Manage operational budgets and contribute to financial planning and reporting activities.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor contractor and supplier performance where required.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in service delivery and work practices.
- Prepare reports, work plans, and operational updates as required.
Mandatory Requirements - Current Plumbing Trade Licence.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience within a plumbing or trade-based environment.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Highly Desirable - Current Driver Licence.
- Experience managing trade teams and apprentices.
- Experience managing budgets, programs, and work schedules.
- Experience delivering maintenance and capital works projects.
- Strong organisational and leadership capabilities.
