We are looking for a skilled and motivated Media and Communications Advisor to join our client, a local council based in Sydney.

The Opportunity
In this exciting 6-month contract role, you will play a key role in developing and delivering strategic communications across a range of platforms. You'll work collaboratively with a dedicated team to ensure all council messaging is consistent, effective, and resonates with residents and stakeholders.

Here's what you'll do:

Develop engaging and informative communications content across multiple platforms, including social media
Prepare high quality media releases, speeches, and communications collateral to meet Council's corporate and strategic goals
Manage the development and production of promotional materials
Craft clear and concise written content for internal and external audiences
Work collaboratively with council departments to gather information and develop targeted communication strategies

Do you have:

Advanced level of written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders
Solid experience in a communications role within local government
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to prepare communications materials for a range of media, including media releases, speeches and newsletters, website copy and social media content
Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field.
