Manager Engineering Services Mid-Western Regional Council Mudgee, NSW Management (Engineering) $160,000 to $180,000 TRP
Mid-Western Regional Council is seeking an experienced engineering leader to take ownership of a critical infrastructure planning portfolio supporting one of regional NSW’s fastest growing communities.
Reporting to the Director Operations, this role leads Council’s infrastructure planning functions across asset management, development engineering, traffic and transport, road safety and forward capital planning.
Council is looking for a technically capable and people-focused leader who can bring accountability, structure and strong leadership to an important team delivering high impact outcomes for the organisation and community.
The Opportunity This is a broad leadership role responsible for: - Asset management planning and infrastructure strategy
- Development engineering and subdivision assessment
- Traffic management and road safety
- Capital planning for transport and drainage assets
- Developer contributions and stakeholder management
- Engineering advice supporting development outcomes
- Contract management and pre-construction planning
- Community, developer and industry engagement
You will lead a direct team of coordinators and specialists across a broader multidisciplinary function, with a strong focus on team alignment, performance, culture and service delivery.
The role will suit someone who can balance technical credibility with practical leadership and knows how to navigate the competing priorities of developers, community expectations and organisational outcomes.
About You To be successful you will bring: - Degree qualifications in Civil Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia
- Extensive local government engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of subdivision and development assessment processes
- Experience across asset management and infrastructure planning
- Proven leadership capability including mentoring, performance management and team development
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Commercial and political awareness with sound judgement and decision making capability
- Experience managing complex infrastructure or engineering environments
- Experience in traffic management, road safety, stormwater or floodway planning will be highly regarded.
