We are looking for an experienced
Project Management Accountant
to join
our client, a progressive local government organisation located in Melbourne’s north. This is an excellent short-term opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys complex modelling, stakeholder collaboration and meaningful project work within a council environment.
In this role, you will play a key part in a critical finance initiative, partnering with stakeholders across Council to design, develop, test and implement an overhead cost allocation model. This model will support cost-of-service analysis and Waste Charge attribution, providing valuable insights to inform decision-making. You will also contribute to modelling and budgeting activities, applying your local government expertise in a practical and outcomes-focused way.
Key responsibilities include: - Delivering special project work focused on overhead cost allocation modelling
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders across Council to gather requirements and validate assumptions
- Supporting modelling, budgeting and financial analysis activities
- Contributing to the development and refinement of Council budget documentation
About you: - Proven experience working within Local Government (mandatory)
- CPA, CA or equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a relevant accounting or finance role
- Demonstrated experience building and developing Council budget documentation
- Experience using CT Management’s long-term financial planning tool is desirable but not essential
