This state department is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Plan Advisor to join their Infrastructure Services Division. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the effective upkeep of school facilities by developing and managing maintenance plans that prioritize safety, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
Working closely with school staff and stakeholders, you will provide expert advice on maintenance processes, apply data-driven decision-making, and drive process improvements to deliver safe, compliant, and well-maintained learning environments. The role is Brisbane-based, with flexibility to travel on week-on/week-off arrangements.
Key Responsibilities - Develop and oversee maintenance plans for school facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Analyze and interpret data to inform short- and long-term maintenance strategies.
- Incorporate safety protocols into all planning and execution activities.
- Provide clear advice and guidance to schools, senior management, and stakeholders.
- Identify inefficiencies in maintenance processes and implement practical improvements.
- Undertake regular travel as part of the week-on/week-off roster, while being based at Brisbane Central office.
Successful candidate
- Strong knowledge of building maintenance processes and asset management systems.
- High attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to balance competing priorities.
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written) to collaborate and provide guidance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and other business systems.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel regularly.
- A valid Blue Card and the ability to meet criminal history check requirements.
Highly Regarded - Previous experience in school or building maintenance environments.
