We are seeking a Maintenance Crew Member to join a well-established local government team in the Redlands Coast region. This is an excellent opportunity to get your start in a council role.
About the Role
In this role, you will undertake a wide range of operational and maintenance activities across civil, drainage, marine and vegetation assets. Working within the Roads, Drainage & Marine Maintenance Crew, you’ll assist with inspections, repairs, defect reporting, vegetation works and general asset upkeep to ensure facilities remain safe, functional and well-presented for the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality maintenance services across civil, marine and vegetation infrastructure
- Perform complex operational tasks under limited supervision
- Operate and maintain a range of tools, plant and equipment
- Use asset management systems to receive and record maintenance tasks
- Identify and report safety hazards in line with WHS requirements
- Support positive team culture and customer service outcomes
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in civil, drainage, vegetation or infrastructure maintenance
- Ability to perform physically demanding labour over sustained periods
- Strong understanding of WHS practices and hazard identification
- Confident plant and equipment operation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Commitment to delivering excellent service to internal and external customers
Mandatory Requirements
- Current C Class Driver Licence
- Ability to complete medical / functional assessments
- Willingness to participate in after-hours on-call roster when required
- Ability to obtain a Criminal History Check
Highly Regarded
- MR or HR Licence
- Plant operator tickets
- Cert II or III in Civil Construction (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a relevant field
Progression to higher classification levels is available for candidates who demonstrate strong competency, additional qualifications, and the ability to work independently.
