Public Sector People are partnering with a council in Melbourne’s south-east to recruit an experienced Landscape Development Officer. This contract role requires local government experience
and offers a flexible hybrid arrangement.
About the Role
You’ll play a key role in shaping high-quality landscape outcomes across the municipality. The primary focus will be to review landscape plans
and liaise with developers, consultants and the planning team to provide expert feedback, including participating in pre-application meetings.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess landscape plans at both masterplan and detailed design level
• Provide clear direction and advice to internal stakeholders and external developers
• Process and evaluate complex landscape referrals in line with legislation, council policies and strategies
• Review detailed plans to ensure compliance with planning permit conditions
• Ensure all landscape matters meet required timelines, legislation and council policy
• Support the development of parklands and high-quality streetscapes across the municipality
About You
• Experience working in local government
is essential
• Strong understanding of landscape design, planning processes and relevant legislation
• Confident liaising with developers, planners and internal teams
• Ability to assess complex plans and provide accurate, timely advice
